My fitness journey goes way back two Decades ago in Africa at my mom's kitchen. As a young kid, I struggled with depression, childhood traumas, anger, etc. There weren't any social media platforms, like Google, YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, etc., to learn from. My only inspiration was my uncle, who I considered then buff and strong, was my biggest inspiration. He was a regular lifter and had weights and other types of exercise equipment at his house. The problem was that I couldn't approach him for fitness guidance because it was considered taboo back then, let alone for a teenager lifting weights. All I wanted was to be strong, and I was determined to find a way at all costs. My first opportunity came when I was able to grab one of his biggest weights, which I supposed was some kind of car parts, probably brakes, or some huge and heavy car parts. I remember without his consent, taking the weight from his place to my dad's house. It took me a total of three days and nights to transport that weight. My first ever attempt was something like military presses and snatches with no clue what I was doing, but I was determined to successfully lift that weight above my shoulders. Such a long story, it will take me a full book to complete. Personally, physically, and mentally, I have made some breakthroughs and transitions over the years, from fat, skinny fat, chubby, lean, buff, jacked, and shredded. Depression to happily ever after with the help of my daily fitness, healthy lifestyle.
